Where are the dresses Made and How?
Every dress and product is designed, cut and sewn in the UK. The majority of the products are made at the studio and some of our accessories are beautifully made elsewhere in England by specialist craftsmen.
Order Times?
Ready to wear dresses are shipped out within two days from ordering.
We carefully hand make each dress to order. During busy times we can take up to 8 weeks to cut and make your dress for you. We work on a first come first serve basis, if you would like to have your order made a priority please contact us before ordering.
What methods do you Payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Matercard, American Express and Paypal. We use PayPal for payments, and PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to ours using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available).

PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME OUR DRESSES HAVE A VINTAGE STYLE FIT WHICH MEANS FIGURE HUGGING AND GORGEOUS FITTED WAISTS. THE COCKTAIL DRESSES SHOULD FEEL TIGHT LIKE YOU'RE A HOLLYWOOD STARLET!
Do you Make to Measure?
Yes we do, as most dresses are made to order we can make your dress to your measurements. As long as your waist measurement is smaller than your underbust measurements we can make your dress. Please provide these at the same time as placing your order.
Do you Make Plus Size Dresses?
At the moment we are unable to make and design plus sized dresses as we do not have the expertise in this area. We are able to make dresses up to a 36" waist.
Can you design me a custom dress?
Yes, we love to take on custom orders and will happily design and make a dress especially for you. Please contact us with your request at alexandra@alexandra-king.com.
How Do You Ship Items?
All dresses are sent in card gift boxes, wrapped in tissue.
UK items are sent via 1st class recorded delivery with Royal Mail
Overseas items are sent via International signed for Airmail or Airsure with Royal Mail.
Do you accept returns?
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE CHECK YOUR MEASUREMENTS! JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE A SIZE 10 IN ONE SHOP DOESN'T MEEN YOU WILL BE FOR A FITTED COCKTAIL DRESS WITH A CINCHED WAIST. ONCE YOU HAVE YOUR MEASUREMENTS TAKEN IT WILL MAKE ORDERING ONLINE SO MUCH EASIER TOO!
Ready To Wear - If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase you may return it within 7 days from receiving it in it's original, mint condition and packaging. We regret we are unable to refund any postage costs.
Made to order - All made to order dresses are non returnable and non refundable as they have been specially cut and made for you. If for any reason you are not happy with your dress please do contact us and we will do everything we can to resolve your concerns.
At our discretion we may opt to refund, replace, repair or offer a discount on a future purchase. Shipping will not be refunded.
As we are a distance away and cannot fit your dress personally Please allow for any final fitting alterations to be carried out by a good dressmaker.
Any alterations to the design once started will incur additional charges.
Are your dresses Ethical?
Running our business ethically is very important to us. We very carefully source vintage and new fabrics for our dresses, using fair trade fabrics where available and aim to buy British sourced fabrics and components where we can.
We ask our suppliers to check the factories used to weave thier fabrics for welfare.
We are not perfect, we have made a promise to continue our reasearch into ethical and fair trade fabrics and to making improvements to the ecology of our dresses.
